Don Quijote Nakasu branch

Fukuoka Don Quijote Nakasu Branch Review (Location, Tax-Free Method)

[4-Night, 5-Day Fukuoka Trip] Fukuoka Don Quijote Nakasu Branch Location and Tax-Free Method

Fukuoka, a hot Japanese travel destination these days.
It wasn’t my original intention, but I recently went on a 4-night, 5-day trip to Fukuoka with Yusama.

Since my flight was a promotional ticket without free checked baggage, I only brought a 20-inch suitcase,
so I didn’t really plan on doing any shopping.

But I had to buy a few essential items, so
I went to the drugstore Fukuoka Don Quijote Nakasu, which is called the flower of Japanese shopping .

I think there might be people who are curious about the location of Don Quijote Nakasu and how to get tax exemption, so I’ll leave a review : )

The location of the Fukuoka Don Quijote Nakasu branch is ↑ here. Address: 3 Chome-7-24 Nakasu, Hakata Ward, Fukuoka, Fukuoka Prefecture 810-0801 Japan

How to get there: If you take the bus , take the 100 yen bus and get off at Kiwabatamachi Station(get off right in front of Don Quijote) . If you take the subway, get off at Nakasu Kawabata Station and take exit 4.※Don Quijote is on the 2nd floor of the building.

But Yusama and I walked! Our accommodation was near Hakata Canal City, andit was only about a 10-minute walk from Canal City to Don Quijote. Haha. So, there was no need to take the subway or bus. 🙂

Don Quijote Nakasu is open 24 hours a day, so if you’re on a tight schedule, you can still shop late into the evening after finishing your schedule!

However, since the Nakasu branch is not a mega Don Quijote, it was smaller than Oki had expected.

Don Quijote usually has a separate costume corner,
When we visited in early October, there were more costume-related products because Halloween was just around the corner.

Here are the prices for leisure time, one of the most popular shopping items among Korean tourists.

The price of Oki’s beloved Megurism eye mask is as follows.

Green tea snacks, including green tea Kit Kats, were displayed in abundance in front of the counter.

Kim Loki’s favorite konjac jelly is also an item that is always on the shopping list for Japanese travel, so
it was placed in front of the counter.

There are also plenty of Perfect Whip products that are still ranked as the top 1 or 2 souvenirs after a trip to Japan.

As expected from Fukuoka, which is famous for its mentaiko, mentaiko mayonnaise is also one of the most purchased items. However,
this product is very divisive, so
unless you have tried it, I do not recommend buying a lot at once. ㅎㅎ
※ Mentaiko tubes are sold at the duty-free shop at Fukuoka Airport. They even freeze it and pack it in ice for free, so it would be better to buy mentaiko tubes on the day you return to Japan.

Japanese tamago soy sauce has become quite popular on Facebook recently.
The secret to the delicious taste of Japanese butter soy sauce egg rice is said to be this egg soy sauce. It can be purchased domestically through overseas direct purchase, but

Because the price difference is two to three times, I bought some Okido because it became a must-buy on my Japan travel list! It’s thicker than soy sauce and has a unique flavor, I guess? It’s versatile and delicious, so I think I’ll buy more on my next visit to Japan.

After finishing shopping like this, you have to pay. What was a bit inconvenient about Don Quijote Nakasu branch is that you have to get tax exemption separately at the duty-free counter after paying anyway,so why not have a regular counter and a counter for those who will get tax exemption?

The point is that there are separate payment counters for those who do not receive tax exemption. Why? Why?
Anyway, since that’s the case, you should stand in line properly. Yes~

Please note that medications must be paid for separately and there is a separate payment counter.
(An announcement will be made repeatedly.)

Tax -free procedures at the Don Quijote Nakasu branch in Fukuoka
. The tax-free standard is 5,401 yen or more, and an 8% consumption tax refundis available. To get a tax-free refund, first pay at the regular counter, then take your receipt and passport to the tax-free counter. The Nakasu branch is notorious for long lines at the duty-free counter, butif you visit late at night or early in the morning, you’ll receive your refund quickly.

It was around 11 PM when Yusama and I stood in line to get our duty-free shopping.
I thought it would be okay since it wasn’t the weekend, but I’ll tell you that it still took 40-50 minutes.
Eight! I should have come later… lol

1. At the Nakasu store, if you present the items you purchased, receipt, and passport, they will give you a number like this first.

2. After sealing the package, they call your number and give you another number tag along with the sealed package.

3. Then, I held my sealed luggage and number tag and waited for my number to be called again.
After a while, when my number was called, I
finally went to the counter next to where I had sealed my luggage and paid the duty-free fee to receive my 8% consumption tax refund. Haha. Very inefficient.

On the way back to the accommodation along the Nakasu River.

We also passed the Nakasu food stall street.
Everyone who has been to the Nakasu food stalls recommends against it for a reason, so
I would advise you to just pass it by.

I’ll end this review of Don Quijote Nakasu, which I visited during my trip to Fukuoka. 🙂
